LUGNUT Sim Racing Scores Runner-Up Finish in Petite Le Mans

Oct.19,2024 - LUGNUT Sim Racing wrapped up an impressive showing at the virtual Petite Le Mans, finishing 2nd in their split after a challenging yet thrilling 10-hour endurance race. The team, comprised of drivers Cory Clark, Spence Thompson, Rob Lupo, and Ryan Strunk, entered the race ranked 17th out of 45 teams. Their performance exceeded expectations, with each driver contributing to a remarkable effort that ultimately saw the team secure a podium finish. The race kicked off with a solid qualifying effort by Cory Clark, earning the team a P7 starting spot. However, issues immediately after the green flag saw the LUGNUT squad fall a daunting 10 laps behind the race leader. Undeterred, the team buckled down and methodically worked their way back into contention. Rob Lupo’s relentless driving put the team in the lead for a stretch, marking a significant comeback effort. Each driver played a crucial role in this result. Ryan Strunk and Spence Thompson both logged solid stints to keep the team competitive and on track. After hours of hard-fought racing, it was Cory Clark who was given the honor of bringing the car home, securing a 2nd place finish both in-class and overall. The team also achieved several notable statistics in the race: Cory Clark recorded the fastest lap on the team, setting a blistering 1:09.463.
